Waterford Heritage Plan 2017-2022

The Waterford City and County Heritage plan guides the promotion and conservation of Waterford’s Heritage and project delivery is supported by the Heritage Council through the annual Heritage Plan Fund. Implementation of the plan is overseen by the Waterford Heritage Forum which involves representation from agencies, state bodies, public participation network and elected members involved in promoting heritage through policy and work programmes.

  • An Ecological Survey of St. John’s River
  • Support of Community Archaeology Projects- Gallows Hill Motte, Dungarvan, Round Hill Motte, Lismore and Knockboy Church
  • Decade of Commemorations - Commemorating loss of life from the SS Formby & SS Coningbeg in 1917 (December) and rescue effort by Dunmore East Fishermen of the UC-44
  • Habitat Study at Kilmacleague Wetland, Tramore
