Part 8 Process - Proposed Extension to the Temporary Garden Building & Ancillary Works, at Tramore House Gardens, Tramore Co. Waterford.

Waterford County & City Council in association with Tramore Development Trust proposed to construct a single storey extension to the temporary garden building and ancillary works within the gardens of Tramore House. The proposed extension will support the continuing development of the Lafcadio Hearn Gardens on the site and will accommodate an exhibition and hospatality space. The proposed extension is a cedar clad box of contemporary design, to match the existing building and is sited to compliment Tramore House and garden layout. The works will be carried out in accordance with conservation best practice, as Tramore House is listed on the Record of Protected Structures. A strict policy of minimum intervention has been followed to avoid any negative impact on the protected structure.

All works will be carried out in accordance with “Architectural Heritage Protection, Guidelines for Local Planning Authorities”, chapter 7, DEHLG 2004. The ongoing garden layout, planting and maintenance works will continue unaffected during the part 8 process, however the proposed works and the part 8 procedure are required to facilitate the future development of the gardens.
