Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2024

The funding will provide capital supports essential for the many community groups and organisations across Waterford, particularly those who serve disadvantaged areas in rural and urban areas.

There will be a particular focus on small capital works/improvements, and the purchase of equipment for community use. The funding may be used for but is not limited to improving access for persons with a disability, enhancing community participation for disadvantaged and marginalised groups, and improving energy efficiency of community facilities to reduce ongoing costs.

There is ring fenced capital funding for women’s groups included in the scheme, to help community projects and groups that support the ethos of women’s sheds and other such groups or projects aimed at providing social networks for women.

The LEP is designed to ensure local priorities are identified and met, to improve and enhance community facilities for all. It will help communities, community groups and committees to continue to provide valuable services to the people in their areas, and in the process strengthen the bonds that tie communities together. It is being administered by Waterford LCDC and Waterford City and County Council.

The fund also aims to support local strategic priorities through linkages with the Local Economic and Community Plan.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications was 12pm 16th February 2024
