The Local Government Reform Act 2014 contains a statutory provision for the preparation of a six year Local Economic & Community Plan (LECP) which was adopted by Waterford City & County Council at their meeting on July 9th 2015. The purpose of the LECP is to set out the objectives and actions needed to promote and support the economic development and the local and community development of Waterford (the local authority area).

Public Consultation
The public consultation on the Draft Waterford Local Economic & Community Plan is now completed. A Waterford LECP Report on Consultation Process is available and contains a fully copy of all the submissions received.
The final draft of the LECP was adopted by both the Economic Development & Enterprise SPC and the Community Plan was adopted by the Local Community Development Committee at their respective meetings on June 11th 2015.
The final LECP was presented to Waterford City & County Council at their plenary meeting on July 9th 2015 for final adoption. A copy of the guidelines issued by the Department of Community Environment & Local Government on the preparation of the LECP are available to download here:
Community Consultation

Baseline Document
As part of the process of preparing the Local Economic & Community Plan, Appendix 6 - Waterford Baseline Document, outlining Waterford's current position, was prepared.
